Engagement Session: Nicolle and Houston on Lake Dunmore

I met up with Nicolle and Houston at Nicolle's family cabin off of Lake Dunmore just a few short weeks ago. It was THE COLDEST DAY EVER. I have never had so many hand warmers at the ready for an engagement photo shoot before, and we constantly needed to take breaks to go back inside and warm up. Despite the elements, Nicolle and Houston rallied and we ended with some of my favorite winter portraits to date. If anything, the freezing temps made snuggling for the photos absolutely necessary, and absolutely adorable.

Of course no session is complete for me until a dog has been scooped up and made to smile for the camera. Rowdy was such a good sport, despite the fact he would much rather have been sniffing for squirrels in the woods.

Nicolle had the ingenious idea to grab one of the beautiful homemade quilts from inside to snuggle up in. And I’m sorry for yelling but GUYS IT WAS SO FRIGGIN CUTE ACK. I’m so psyched to be photographing their wedding this June, we gonna have a ball.
